BAD BENNY BAD NO MORE
This is possibly the windiest ride I've ever done. We all casually met up, and I had a touch of flu - Benny's cruisey 250 sounded like Audax like enough to work for me, but the moment we headed up greenhill road things began to feel not so great.
Some of the others split off, and then it was just Benny and I. Benny with a huge tailwind? Hard man to catch.
After a long flog into Murray Bridge, we turned into headwind and things got... interesting. Think lizards and a cross wind so strong, you had to aim towards the wrong side of the road just to keep going straight.
I had aerobars on, they didn't do a thing. When we turned towards Langhorne Creek; something astonishing happened. We were taking 30 second turns, barely averaging 13kmh, and I looked over my shoulder to find... I'd dropped Benny. That never happens. This man is a climbing powerhouse.
I eased up, we regrouped, and literally hid in driveways to get out of the howling gale.
I paid for it after Strath, Benny finding his legs again.
